What is tensioned structural design?
"Tensegrity" is a special mechanical structural concept proposed by American Richard Buckminster Fuller in the mid-20th century. It refers to two components that are not in direct contact being connected by cables, utilizing the tension generated by the cable's pulling force to create a complete and stable three-dimensional structure between the two components.
"Based on natural mechanisms, it can use the minimal elements to form a solid structure."

The product uses transparent fishing line as the component that holds the two objects together, reducing the visibility of the fishing line and enhancing the "floating" sensation!

The sensation becomes even more pronounced when objects are placed on top:

The product consists of two main parts, incorporating the ancient astronomical concept of "circular heaven, square earth" and extending the theme that life is an adventure. The "Circular Sky" features sky blue as the primary color, engraved with the sun and moon symbolizing the cycle of day and night, with the inscription "Adventure is out there." The "Square Earth" uses earth green as the primary color, with adventurous paths continuously unfolding across its surface. The iconography follows an ancient map style, adding to the adventurous atmosphere.
※ Handling Instructions ※
After opening the packaging, you will see thick cardboard with cushioning function and product backing cards. After removing these, you can see the main product. Please grasp the upper and lower ends of the product and slowly lift it out (as shown in the diagram). Do not grab the fishing line directly or only hold the middle connecting area, as this may cause the fishing line fixation to loosen, resulting in product disassembly.

♻️ Eco-Friendly & Sustainable ♻️
This product is crafted from aerospace metal offcuts left over from precision machining. These materials are not of inferior quality; rather, their small size makes them unsuitable for larger parts. Typically, such scraps are melted down for recycling, a process that is energy-intensive and not environmentally friendly.
At Metal Arts, we embrace sustainability by repurposing these high-quality metal remnants. By preserving the machining marks and holes, we transform what would have been scrap into unique, meaningful products. This approach not only reduces waste but also gives each piece a one-of-a-kind character and cultural value.
