Tree frogs are commonly found in forests in East Asia. They have suction cups at the end of their toes to facilitate movement in the woods.
There are currently more than 80 known species of tree frogs, including one that is endemic to Taiwan!
Taipei tree frog
An endemic species of Taiwan, named after its distribution in the Shulin District of Taipei City. Its skin can change color according to the environment, most commonly appearing with a bright green back and vibrant yellow belly.
In the past, it was mistakenly identified as the Japanese Tree Frog. In 1979, it was recognized as an endemic species of Taiwan, and officially named the Taipei Tree Frog.
